An accomplished musician, record label owner, mother, and one of the founders and leaders of today's World Music movement, Wah! has performed with Deepak Chopra, Gregg Braden, Wayne Dyer and Neale Donald Walsch. If you have taken a yoga class in the last 5 years, you have undoubtedly heard her music. Her Savasana CDs have sold over 60,000 units worldwide; in 2011 iTunes featured her with a compilation titled "Greatest Yoga Music Ever." Her new book Healing: A Vibrational Exchange brings her work to a wider audience; she has lectured at Princeton University, Loyola Marymount University, conferences and EXPOS throughout the country. She is an innovator in her field, using a deep understanding of music to create high energy experiences that are transformative and expansive.
Wah! began her world music journey when she took a college course on raga: melodic modes used for Indian classical chant. This led to her exploration of classical, world, jazz and reggae music as well as the performing arts. In 2008 she was named a Yoga Rock Star by Yoga International Magazine. LA Yoga Magazine celebrates her "colorful combination of talent, science and spirit." Yoga Journal calls her "one of the most versatile artists" in her genre.
Wah! introduced The Healing Concert with the release of her new book, Healing: A Vibrational Exchange, a beautiful, coffee-table book focusing on seven ways to create more space and more healing in your life. The accompanying CD, Healing: A Vibrational Exchange CD includes live audio from The Healing Concert and six previously unreleased tracks of new music.
Wah! has performed The Healing Concert at colleges, expos and wellness conferences throughout the country, most notably at UC Boulder's Fiske Planetarium. Her community outreach includes ongoing free workshops for cancer patients and their caregivers (with Julie Locke, R.N. in San Francisco), creating a yoga program for the Women's Detention Camp in Rainbow/San Diego County, and performing benefit concerts for Farmer Suicide Prevention (helping farmers in India cope with repeated crop failure and loan sharking), and AIMS hospital founded by the spiritual leader Amma. She mentors young musicians, many of whom have become sacred music leaders themselves. Fans find a connection in her music, using tracks as transformative doorways for growth and healing.
