Wayne Messmer

Wayne Messmer is often referred to as, “The guy who sings the Anthem,” which he has done for more than thirty years for Chicago’s sports teams and civic functions. He is a well-known voice of the National Anthem, serving as a fixture with the Cubs and Wolves of the AHL and formerly, the Blackhawks at Old Chicago Stadium.

Wayne is a veteran broadcaster. His weekly radio program, The Wayne Messmer Radio Show is heard Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:00pm Central Time on WDCB 90.9FM (www.wdcb.org). He is also a professional speaker, actor and businessman. The Chicago-based firm bearing his name, Wayne Messmer & Associates focuses on retirement strategies and is considered to be one of the most respected financial services firms of its kind in the country.

Wayne Messmer’s newest CD album, So Lucky to Be Loving You features the great jazz pianist and performer Judy Roberts.

He is also the author of the critically acclaimed book, The Voice of Victory, an autobiographical account of his career and his amazing comeback from a senseless act of violence in 1994 where he was shot in the throat as a victim of an armed robbery.

Wayne lives happily and peacefully in the Chicago area with his very musical wife Kathleen. Together, they enjoy two daughters and four grandchildren.
