Write it in your journal, “Life is easy and Weathered Home is some sweet harmony”!
Weathered home… one of Vancouver’s newest Indie bands to hit the scene is an eclectic musical mixture of folk, jazz and rock accompanied by the blow-your-mind opera-inspired vocals of Kyla Rawlins.
Fully collaborative, this six member band is only a year old, yet together they have produced over 30 original songs. Weathered Home is Kyla Rawlins on Vocals, Andrew Mitton on Guitar, Mike Lauder on drums, Aaron Mitton on Bass, Neil Brideau on guitar, Mark Kinskofer on Keys.
In their first foray in the studio, Weathered Home has produced a 4-song EP available on iTunes and CDbaby. With all original songs, including "Crossed Paths" where a jazzy Kyla Rawlins is warning you to never miss an opportunity. "Daffodils Lonely" is a haunting and emotional song with Andrew Mitton on guitar echoing beautifully to Kyla’s operatic vocals. "Golden Skies" is a folksy anthem of personal philosophy of how to live life:
Yes, write it in your journal, Life is easy! And finally, "Wherever You Go" is a folksy summer love story full of promise without the cheesy teenage clichés.
Other songs can be heard on Weathered Home’s YouTube channel. Most notably are "Acorn Tree" which is simply rock poetry at its finest and"Raining in July", which will even make Vancouverites smile.
