Born and raised in Chicago, Darryl Boggs has been making music professionally for over 30 years. He has worked in the private and public school systems where he has taught band, choir and classroom music. Presently, he is doing all of these in his school district west of Chicago. Special notice has been given to his primary level classes where he brings his guitar and his love of creating songs for young children. “Pockets, Seasons, Rhymes & Reasons” is a CD in which Darryl collaborated with children’s music writer and producer, Wendy Morgan. It is his first CD as a composer and lyricist. The second Wendy & DB CD, “It’s a Doo-Da Day”, will be released in April, 2015. Darryl is a graduate of Benedictine University with Graduate studies at Roosevelt University & Vandercook College of Music. Darryl is a member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians (CFM) and the Chicago Teachers Union.
A native of the Hyde Park community of Chicago, Wendy is a multi-faceted singer/songwriter and teacher. After leaving the School of The Art Institute of Chicago where she studied film, drawing and photography Wendy set out to pursue her love of music.. In 1996 she released “Say Wen”, a CD of self-penned originals in an eclectic jazz/pop/R&B style. Many of the songs on “Say Wen” received awards, recognition and airplay. “Next”, a collection of classic jazz favorites was released in 2008 and in 2013 she released her first children’s music CD “Pockets, Seasons, Rhymes and Reasons” with her writing partner Darryl Boggs. Wendy is a graduate of DePaul University. She is the owner of the Vocal Gymnasium and manages Wendy & DB. Wendy is a member of ASCAP, CFM, SAG/AFTRA & NARAS.
