A brilliant violinist and songwriter, Corujo was born and raised in an artistic home, in Cuba, as the son of music and theatre parents. Corujo began his study of music at 6 years old and shortly after performed as a Soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of Matanzas, Cuba and never looked back. Corujo studied violin and piano and obtained a Masters degree at the National Art School in Havana and set out to share his talent and love of music with the world.
Corujo has won national competitions and has had his music featured on Latin television, radio, and has performed with musical legends. Corujo settled in Spain where he quickly made his presents known by playing with some of Spain’s most diverse and renowned musicians ranging in styles from Classical, Latin Rhythms, Jazz, Pop, Latin Rock, and more including with members of the Moscow Orchestra.
Corujo was the musical director and musician for the musical group, Cafe Quijano released on the Warner Music label. Corujo’s band toured America and Europe sharing stages with music lords and legends. Café Quijano has been honoured with multiple nominations by the U.S. Latino Grammy Awards.
After Cafe Quijano’s tour, Corujo took a break by creating a new musical experience in the form of a duo called, Words and Music. Corujo’s duo is an intimate and interactive experience that still tours Spain, Malta, UK, France, and the USA and beyond. Corujo has built more fans with his English repertoire featured by the duo.
Corujo has worked with several record labels and producers on music recordings and musical scores for film including an opportunity to work and record with David Bisbal on tour 2011. Corujo’s musical talents range from acoustic violin, electric violin, mandolin, guitar, saxophones, keyboards, percussion and vocal. He has written hundreds of songs, and made the daring move of opening a recording studio and label called Will Recording Studios.
Corujo has taught many students, played and recorded with some of the finest musicians, releases music on radio and television internationally, been featured in films and performed for thousands of fans. Corujo is currently recording a project featuring his talents as a violinist. The coming album "TravELfaster" features themes of Jazz-Fusion, Funk, and Latin Jazz and is being produced by the great Cuban musician Julio Montalvo. The Album is slated for a 2012 release
