William began his musical studies on classical guitar at age 6 switching to bass at age 12. Teachers have included electric bass virtuoso Michael Manring and Robert Meyer (principal bassist BBC Orchestra, London Symphony). He received his BA in music theory/composition from Humboldt State University.
Awards include the Humboldt State Award of Excellence for outstanding achievements in the performing arts, The Communicator Award for excellence in audio engineering, Who's Who distinction, and the 1997 MENC national composition competition winner .
He has performed/recorded with a wide range of ensembles including orchestras, jazz, blues, metal, and pop bands,country and celtic groups...even as a solo bassist; including work with Tempest, Michael Manring, Nick Vigarino,Two Loons for Tea, Groove Mob, the Skagit Symphony, the Humboldt Symphony, and many others. His own pieces have been performed by orchestras in the US and Canada and have appeared in film, video, and theater.
William also works as an audio engineer with an impressive list of over 150 album credits including work at Robert Lang Studios, ElectroKitty, Two Street Recording, and Estudio Morelia.
