I, Alexander Pyslarash, will never forget the day when I met Amber Doll. We met each other at SubWay at the end of 2011 and became co-workers for almost a year! After some period we created a band that included only acoustic guitar and vocals. Starting with the cover of Radiohead’s Karma Police, we began a new story in music by starting a new genre of noir. We called it noir because of its similarity to film noir, that is full of great stories and don’t have extremely positive or negative heroes.
First we played at open mic night at the Gypsy’s Den in Santa Ana, and people liked our performance. They were so fascinated, that some of them were recording our performance on their smartphones!
We realized that we had to write our own songs and create a name for our little duet. That is how the repertoire for our first EP was born, and we named ourselves Winter’s Flight.
The first album called “A Place Where Memories Fade” included four songs: Chains, Hidden, Ghosts, and See You Later. These songs are little stories that talk about important yet somewhat invisible matters. You might be good yet also bad at the same time because everything depends just on the point of view.
This album is just a beginning of a long journey that our band is starting. It is a prologue for the great story that we want to tell everybody. Let the winter start!
