Wolfe & Powell

Biography

Paige Powell grew up in a musical family. Her father and both her grandmothers played piano well, and her father’s mother, Evelyn, graduated from the Juilliard School of Music, teaching piano all her life. When Paige is asked how she can compose the melodies she does, she replies, “My Dad always had classical music playing in the house from the time I was born. I'm sure my brain was 'imprinted' in some way”. When Paige's mother was in college, she sang on the local radio station. Paige's cousins, Joel Pitts and Deborah Cosimo are accomplished musicians.
Paige Powell plays a Martin D-18 acoustic guitar, a gift from her father at Christmas when she was home from college. After relocating to the Washington, DC area, Paige played her songs at open mics and coffeehouses, and also played at churches and benefit concerts. After becoming successful as a graphic artist, enabling her to set her own hours, Paige dedicated more time to songwriting and recording. She is on the Board of Directors of the Songwriters' Association of Washington, where she emcees a monthly open mic, moderates a monthly songwriting lecture/critique and attends frequent songwriting seminars and workshops. In 2011, she joined the DC chapter of NSAI.
Paige Powell lives in Alexandria, Virginia, working as a fine artist, graphic artist and photographer.
