Been beatboxing since elementary school. Took piano lessons in middle school. Formed a small crew in high school, writing dumb little songs, beating on desks and freestyling (poorly). Wrote my first real song freshman yr of college, 1998. Started making shitty beats using drum tracks taken from midi versions of popular rap songs of the day, laying music over them with my keyboard. Recorded the majority of my first album, "Bitch Please", by playing the beat and rapping into a computer mic at the same time. Lol.
Slight upgrade for my 2nd album, Year 3000, using the Hammerhead drum machine and Cakewalk Express, and a Midi to Audio converter for the music. In 2000, I "obtained" a copy of Reason from a DJ friend, and my mind was blown.
Since then, the beat maker in me has flourished, and I occasionally get behind a mic to give the beats something to do.
