Biography

X-Kid The Bio

The early years of the X-Kid/ Immaculate Flave saga started as a youth in the fledging Portland, OR hip hop scene as a breakdancer for Reflex (sponsored by Pepsi) & as an intricate member of hip hop/ electro-rock crew Dynamic Sound Machine w/ Seanski Luv & DJ Pauly Paul (whose brother Henry Bogdan was original bassist for hard hitting rock band Helmet). During this embryonic stage a young multi-instrumentalist X-Kid first honed his complex lyrical stylings and mastered the art of beat manipulation & production. Also there was a brief but powerful collaboration with Kickin It Productions, whose alumni includes Herman Da Brown Hornet, super producer Bosko, Jumbo & Vursatyl of LifeSavas & Pete Miser.

Street hustling & opportunity continued X-Kids journey north to the City Of Rain Seattle, WA. There X-Kid connected with EZ Shock aka DJ Demo, first as NSP (until New Kids On The Block stole the name after a chance meeting at Puyallup Fair) then as sexually energized P.O.W. (Players On Wax), culminating in the release of the seminal NW classic “Down Wit P.O.W”. A corrupt, desperate legal system created situations that folded X-Kid’s original label, D. Ganksta Records, when label owner Darryl “D-Bone” Armstrong was framed, falsely convicted of conspiracy as part of Seattle’s infamous “Weed & Seed” federal sting operation. Shortly thereafter X-Kid joined forces with spit fire mc Mista Snipe & formed power duo Mack Patrol, inter-mingled with a as a stint as engineer/ producer alongside RC Tha Trackaholic, Beezie 2000 & Mike Wingo for legendary Central District studio Let’s Do It Productions, founded by the late great Sam Stephens.

Early 2000 X-Kid created Immaculate Flave with longtime cohort Dank P & a small roster of NW artists, including a young Julie C. (currently of Alpha P/ 206 Zulu). A string of releases followed: X-Kid “Bangable” EP, Metaphoric “Welcome To My World”, Dank P “King Dank Version”, Freeze “Situations” & 2003’s X-Kid “Scienz Klass”. Sprinkled in were X-Kid appearances on South Bronx’s Trakwerk “Affiliated” & groundbreaking Pete Miser “Camouflage Is Relative”, shows all across US & Canada performing solo, w/ Flave crew & as bassist singer for hydro rock band Indo Stix (w/ super shredder Shawn Julien.)

2005 saw X-Kid relocating to industry hot Hollywood, CA & Immaculate Flave expanding its executive branch with the arrival of business partner/ artist Aries. Intense, action-packed shows (w/ Dudley Perkins, Hollywood Kill, Pic Vicious, Marcie Smith, Truth, Menacin Johnson, Megabusive to name a few), additional releases: X-Kid “The Tombz”, Aries “Scholarly Prodigies”, “Smoke Muzik” & “Flaveworld” mixtapes, national & regional tours including “Blow Treez” Tour, “.700 World Series” Tour, “Massive Damage” Tour, touring alongside such contemporaries Alpha P (Sea), The Pirate Signal (Den), The Bayliens (Oak), DJ Inform (Ohio), Snow White Tha Product (SD), MTA (MI), League 510 (SF), prog rockers Ben’s Jazz Kit (Sea) & many others. It also saw the introduction of X-Kid’s alter ego Red Apache as lead singer/ bassist of neo pimp punk band Black Gravity (w/ extreme drummer Jazz Turnbow of Ben’s Jazz Kit & No. Michigan guitar god Taro Taylor.)

2010 has exciting ventures on the horizon spearheaded by the current releases of X-Kid “The Don Juan Of Saddam” & X-Kid & Dank P “Block Propaganda”. Upcoming releases by Dank P “Sex & Communion”, Red Apache “The Dark Side Of Nowhere”, self titled releases by Black Gravity & supergroup Turf Commission (feat. X-Kid & L.A. underground mic terrorists Emaculent, G-Profit & Infamous), projects in the works with Portland, OR lyrical assassins Beanz & Artoffacts, Seattle, WA songbird Ashley Grammer & femcee S.E.A. Endeavors in fashion, film and web commerce continue to enhance Immaculate Flave’s ever-expanding portfolio. X-Kid will continue to be a resilient staple in the NW & national underground/ mainstream hip-hop scene.
