Fredericksburg, Va (PressReleaser) July 02, 2011 — The DMV area has finally found a sound it can call it's own with the arrival of Ya Boy G. Raised in Pa Texas, home of UGK and other rappers you may already know, AJ, has he is affectionately called by those closest has been rapping and writing rhymes for the better part of his years and has amassed countless songs just itching to be recorded. Growing up in the south, G went through the usual struggles as a child from a single parent household in the slums of Texas, hustling in the streets and doing anything he could to put food on the table. At one point however it got so precarious for him that his mother encouraged him to leave town, or the state for that matter as he was being threatened by Feds that jail or death was his next come up.
So he took his mother's advice and moved to Va, Fredericksburg to be precise, with his friend from home who moved away a couple of years earlier.
From 2001 thru 2008, Ya Boy G stayed grinding on the underground music scene, dropping several mixtapes in the DMV area, making a name for himself. Then he was contacted by the CEO of 3D Productions' Jerry Cowell, who recruited him to join his team which he did.
For the next 2 years they toured and performed around the DMV amassing a dedicated following who showed up deep at all their events. During this period, he featured on several mixtapes from which G's stock rose.
In 2011 G was discovered during a freestyle cypher by Smoketown Records president Karl Wilkins who signed him to a recording contract and is set to release his first cd in the summer of 2011. The cd entitled "Smash Da Gas" is already creating buzz with the single "DMV Stand Up", a real street anthem sure to have DC, MD and VA singing along.
