Yevgeniy Vostokov was born in Russia in 1959. His father Orest was a Civil Aviation Executive, and their family moved throughout the former Soviet Union several times till 1966, when they finally settled in Chisinau, Moldova.
Yevgeniy was a talented young man, who was not afraid of any challenges he has had to face in his life. He showed an interest in chess and began taking lessons in 1970. In 1972 Yevgeniy became a youth champion of the Soviet Union as a member of his school team.
Soon after, music became his new passion. He took an entrance exam for a school of music, and was awarded a place in a Violin class. However, he wanted to play a guitar and over the next few years Yevgeniy taught himself to play it.
Mathematics were always easy for him. After graduating high school in 1976, he attended Kishinev State University, which he graduated from in 1981 with a Masters Degree in Applied Mathematics. Since then, he makes his living working in software development business.
In 1994 Yevgeniy immigrated to the United States with his wife and son, and became a Michigan resident.
Yevgeniy wrote his first song as a teenager, but released his first album “Soft Dreams” in 2007. Second album "Across the Ocean" he signed with a TMG Record Label (TATE Music Group) and it was released in October 2009. In 2010 two very unique albums were created: "Nostalgia" which is full of guitars and deep feelings and "Fifteen Flavors" contains ethnic world music combined into contemporary dancing melodies.
The most recent work, "Touch me, tenderness" is his fifth album. It is a treasure full of traditional Russian melody character. Yevgeniy shares his 15 original songs in the Russian language lovingly performed to invoke emotion. Selfless care was taken to rapture the listener with lyrics written from the works of poets such as N. Rubtsov, A. Rostovtsev, N. Agnivtsev, V. Kaganov, I. Yasenetskaya.
