Yo Vanderkley was born in Holland and is a Canadian singer/songwriter . As a founding member of the group Harlow, she made #15 on the Billboard Dance Chart. As a writer and artist Yo landed at # 15 on the British High Energy Chart and the Canadian Country Music Chart. (ouch...not an easy stretch!)
Yo has sung back up vocals for Patti LaBelle, Roch Voisine, Liona Boyd, Rita McNeil and Ronnie Hawkins and her vocals were featured on the Alicia Keys DVD, “The Diary of Alicia Keys”.
She’s shared the stage with Elton John, Tears for Fears, Men at Work and Liz Tilden and has worked on T.V. in Italy, Portugal, the U.S. and Canada.
Still, to quote Yo, “ I can safely shop at Walmart without the paparazzi stalking me except to ask me for a price check”.
All of Yo’s writing and performing experience come together to make “Strange Life” the perfect starting point for those who wish to know her as an artist.
The single “Slow Kiss” co-written with legendary keyboard player Rob Gusevs, has already received airplay across Canada.
