A Performing Arts-Based, Entrepreneurial Workshop for teens and young adults; located in Buffalo, New York.
Youth have the opportunity to strengthen their voice in the world and channel their experience into performance projects. The Youth Prison Prevention Project assists in transforming the negativity of the streets into messages of empowerment. This workshop offers the youth training in media arts production, creative writing, dance, music, performance discipline, financial literacy, and business planning.
Robert A. Harris Sr. is the President and CEO of the Youth Prison Prevention Project - Y(Triple)P. This project was rooted in the desire of Brother Harris to help reveal the booby-traps of the streets and of the governmental/prison system to the youth and their parents. The goal is to enlighten, encourage, and uplift the listening audience high above any bad atmospheric air in their lives.
Brother Harris recruited many youth during a city-wide talent search in June 2011. That summer and fall the youth performed over 40 shows in the Western New York area and also opened for a play in Pittsburg, PA. The greatest success story occurred 5 months later when one of the youth, who worked extremely close with Mr. Harris on personal character development and entrepreneur proficiency, signed a contract with a production company in Arizona. This is proof that the program's mission, vision, and goals will continue to produce positive results.
The Youth Prison Prevention Project is continuously looking for youth with talent, volunteers, and especially sponsors to continue to finance this great movement. They are also looking to come to your local church, school, and community center to give a series of prison prevention seminars and workshops, which can also include performances by Brother Rob and the Y(Triple)P.
