An accomplished guitarist with international credentials, Zach Bandolin has worked as a professional musician for over 20 years. From touring across Asia to his current endeavours in Canada, his skills have taken him across the globe.
Born into a musically talented family, Bandolin excelled at music from a very young age. His father, a multi-instrumentalist, was the conductor of their local orchestra, while his sister, a gifted pianist, introduced Bandolin to the guitar.
Though he began his career as a folk singer, Bandolin quickly discovered his true calling was the electric guitar. Saving up his lunch money to purchase records by Larry Carlton, Wes Montgomery and George Benson, Bandolin immersed himself in the world of jazz.
Throughout the eighties, Bandolin was lead guitarist of Filipino band, Strawberry. As well as co-writing some original songs that were broadcast live on Philippine radio, Bandolin also performed numerous gigs as the headlining jazz guitarist in venues across Baguio City.
In the early nineties, as a member of the group "Angel Eyes," Bandolin toured in China, Japan and Bahrain. Since moving to South Korea in 1994, he has played countless gigs in music venues, hotels and even theme parks.
Bandolin has also participated in many charity benefits and had the pleasure of playing with many Korean singers and TV personalities in support of the homeless.
Now known as one of the best guitarists in Seoul, Bandolin continues to share his talent with others. An innovative jazz musician whose improvisation is based on melody rather than chords, he aims to tell stories using his guitar. Bandolin's delightful songs capture his many moods, and he hopes his audience will relate to every emotionally charged note.
