Zeev Tal

My Name is Ze'ev Tal. I was born in Israel.
When I was a little boy, my father, received a piano in lieu of payment. I used to enjoy tinkling with the keys with childish enthusiasm, but at the outbreak of the War of Independence in Israel my parents had to sell the piano to help make ends meet. I had lost my best friend, but the memories remained.

Yeas went by. When I had my own family, I studied to play accordion. While I was learning to play I composed melodies, wrote songs, and felt the music flowing through my veins.

My teacher of that time didn't approve of pupils composing their own music and lyrics. So we parted ways and I gave up playing and composing all together. Before I gave up playing, I recorded all the melodies I had composed on an old style Cassette. I put the Cassette into a drawer and gradually forgot about its existence.

Many years later I bumped into a friend."You'll never guess what I'm doing these days". His eyes were gleaming with excitement. "I'm composing music" he said, with the enthusiasm of a young boy.

And then it hit me, like a lightning bolt out of the blue. I remembered the tunes I had composed, the melodies that were flowing in my veins and the songs I had written. Then suddenly I remembered the Cassette with the music I had composed recorded on it.

I told my friend about everything I had done, and he asked simply "Why don't you start playing again? You don't know what music can do for you". As soon as the words were spoken I knew that the decision had been made. I was going to create music again. "But how will I start? I've forgotten to read music, I can't play an instrument, and I have no formal music education?"

My friend introduced me to his teacher Zhana Brodtzky, who became my teacher, my mentor, my guide and advisor in all things concerned with composition. From there on - it's all history!

After searching, I found the lost Cassette recording, and with Zhana's help managed to retrieve from the Cassette all of my first compositions.

Whilst working with the recordings other melodies started bubbling up within me, coming forth and flowing like the waters of a burst dam. More and more tunes night and day. My life had changed!
I am delighted to present you to my first disc, "Spring Flowers" that contain Waltzes, Tangos, and easy listening music.. Snippets from the disc could be heard on my site and the disc is available on CD Baby.
I hope that you will enjoy listening to the music as much as I have enjoyed composing it.

Pleasant listening!
