dd plays twin saxes in harmony, with his daughter on trumpet, at Steak & Wine Tastings on their Angus cattle ranch and European wine grape
vineyard in Mint Hill, just each of Charlotte, NC. He has been performing all over the south for a number of years with the Fabulous Plaids,
and created his Beef & Blues band as a way to create interest for customers, blues fans, and Carolina Beach music in his home town.
The band is on stage for after wedding parties, family reunions and corporate entertaining their employees in the vineyard.
dd performs, promos his beef and gourmet wine Jelly, and give the customers a way to just enjoy the Steak dinners, live bands and
take a load off Annie. The Original Plaids as well as a hot band around Charlotte know as the Boardwalk Band, rotate performances,
and dd's B&B band does cameo appearences.
Queen City blues is a Beach, Blues upbeat shag tune written in 1991, but has only been performed live, never digitally mastered until now.
As an uptempo blues ballard, it has powerful horns, screaming guitar solos and a vocal the reminds you of Tom Jones,
Its story tells how the Carolina beach fans enjoyed listening to local radio (WGIV) in Charlotte, and WLAS(Nashville Tenn), back in the
day. The tune tells about the black bands around Charlotte like Marice Williams and Gladiolas/Zodiacs, Delacardos, Swingin' Padros, and
others like Chairman of the Board, performing at Ole Park Center, a legendary R&B venue dating back to the early 1960's.
dd stays busy these days, growing cattle, growing wine grapes, and writing blues tunes to perform live with his daughter at his
quarterly vineyard events, and his Blues Band has a phenominal "Showtime" for the blues and beach fans to enjoy. dd
