efesar (lowercase "e", pronounced "eff-ess-are" like the letters FSR) is primarily the solo project of k.alexander.w ("keldot, k, kay"). Inspiration and contributions come from v0sh, basketweaver, ash, geoff and other collaborators.
The music itself is deep club/vocal trance/indus/tribal/soundscape with intensely unusual rhythms, thoughtful lyrics and fluid ambient motion. The mood is dark to hopeful, but usually somewhere in the shadows. There is some influence from D&B and industrial genres, both the live kind and the electronic kind. The composition is a robust combination of analog, organic and digital, both highly melodic and lyrical.
The music of born as reign in 1993 (including parts of "hallucinations fire play" and "imps, ogres & valkyries"). efesar was formed from those ashes in 1996. at one point "stillbirth" was the live incarnation of efesar and thanataphobia projekt unified. A lot of live music that eventually morphed into efesar songs was created with ash and hippy tim. The defunct group "velocity sensitive" (kay, v0sh, basketweaver, geoff, sometimes ash) played some efesar songs live.
I stopped making music in 2006, but I still enjoy listening to it and people still seek me out, so as the guy once said, "I ain't dead yet!"
