entropic advance was originally founded in seattle, washington in 1998 by bios+a+ic and noise poet nobody. Sounds of euro-inspired IDM, ethereal noise improvisations, clicks, thumps, rhythms, tones, created in real-time with space for improvisation which is always lucid and fresh. Lush synth-like trumpet lines and rich tapestries of sound textures mix with field recording, whispering vocals and eclectic samples.
entropic advance has a distinctive style which offers a fresh hybrid of modern electronic music, demonstrating a realized potential of modern sound art and has released 9 full-length cds on the indie label symbolic insight which have influenced people all around the world. Bios+a+ic is the core memeber and organizer of the project which has also included sonic contributions by noise poet nobody (core Seattle partner), Jim Deal, xaxis wye, mutant data orchestra, John Schuller, Paul Ruebenstien, klimit mika, inBOIL, Otis Fodder (Bran Flakes), Erik Brown, Vance Galloway, and Jon Brummett. Live shows have included ambient sets at galleries & museums and heavy beat sets at nightclubs & festivals and the performances are always a one of a kind experience which will often include video projections, dancers, and guest musicians.
