Jen Scaturro is a New York City musician, composer and electronic/pop artist ("i am jen").
With a career spanning over 15 years in the music business, Jen has composed music for advertising, working with agencies such as Grey, Publicis, BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather, Young & Rubicam, and Saatchi & Saatchi. Most notably, her remix of “Unbelievable” for a JC Penny campaign was released as a single and reached No. 1 on Amazon’s electronica charts.
Jen has composed original scores and songs for television shows on FOX, CW, The Discovery Channel, TruTV and the Sundance Channel, working with Granada USA, Radical Media and 4Kids Entertainment.
As a musician she has backed major label artists as a multi-instrumentalist sideman, playing venues such as Joe's Pub, The Livingroom, The Bitter End, World Café Live and other tri-state venues. In the studio, Jen’s synth/drum programming and pop production sense landed her on albums by Avril Lavigne, Brie Larson, Aaron Carter and Laura Pausini.
With the release of her debut recording as a solo artist/producer ("The Broken EP" 2004) Jen made a global connection to fans of electronic/pop. With the support of CDBaby, MySpace, YouTube, Sirius XM, Radio 1 and a multitude of fans, Jen achieved a successful career as a modern, DIY artist. Three additional records have been released since her debut. Her videos (also self produced) have accrued over 500,000 hits on YouTube.
While entertaining deals from indie labels and publishers, Jen’s breakout song “Broken In All The Right Places” made its way into modern culture with multiple film/tv placements including FOX’s “The O.C.”. With a strong sense of individuality and entrepreneurial spirit, Jen forged ahead as an indie artist, licensing her catalog of songs and instrumental music, garnering numerous placements in television and film projects worldwide.
Jen’s music catalog is expanding to include additional musical genres as her artistic development deepens. With ongoing music education in instrumental performance, arranging and composition, Jen is focused on creating a comprehensive music catalog (Jen Scaturro Production Music Library) to meet the needs of producers in all areas of media production now and in the future.
