ieatpants is a bedroom-pop folk-rock sci-fi psych project.
sounds are formed, bounce around in and then are recorded in tiny brooklyn apartment. it feels as though the walls are closing in.
always, in the background, hidden under the half-size fridge (or between the hotplate and the ikea wall storage) is fear. paranoia. a dark cloud hovering over our heads -- it all bleeds into the microphone.
it all started in 2006. stuck in a dank basement in long island city. there was one window, and it was only used for sneaking in and out. trapped down there was was paranoia and darkness and it couldn't possibly last. ieatpants is a mix of a million random thoughts spewed forth from guitar- and mouth-holes. some of them are dark and some of them are silly. but all of them are true.
ieatpants is inspired by Jorge Luis Borges, Philip K. Dick, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Thomas Pynchon, and that woman who sits behind me on the bus everyday.
in case you were confused by the above; ieatpants sounds like: xiu xiu, damien jurado, m. gira, lungfish, brainiac, dinosaur jr., bardo pond, smog, galaxie 500, the shins, chad vangaalen, joy division, american analog set, oneida, the frogs, and at least 7 more
