noon:30

Biography

Hailing from Detroit, Connecticut and Maryland respectively noon:30 has come onto the District's music scene as an undeniable force. Blending all genres and styles of music with a definitive emphasis on rock, it is difficult to put your finger on how to best describe their sound but one thing is for certain: it's not R&B.

Having come together in the Spring of 2008 to have an after-work jam session, their first song, Orphane, was created. There was no doubt at that point that the three were a band of musical soul mates.

So what to expect at a noon:30 show? Guitar stylings ranging from pure ambient to uncontrollably infectious melodies, drumbeats that evoke the inner savage one moment and softly soothe you the next, and deeply soulful vocals that effortlessly change shape with each song, carrying the listener along with or without permission. And of course, let's not forget - the dirty, dirty bass.

As a band continually committed to all forms of art, noon:30 includes custom-made visual effects with each live performance. On occasion you can find a friend onstage with them as well, creating live art inspired by their music.

If you're still uncertain about who these ladies are and if their music is right for you, don't hesitate to ask around; people will definitely let you know that noon:30 is the best thing to hit the nation's capital in a very long time.
