nosnow/noalps

Biography

nosnow/noalps began it's journey over mountainous terrain in early 2007 with their poppy indie rock seasoned with a punk, reggae and ska sound.

In 2008 nosnow/noalps released their first EP "(just rock)". Singles released from this EP included the Bay Music Awards-nominated "Taking My Time", and the Malta Music Awards-nominated "Headset". All singles ranked high in top local radio charts, and consequently, the nosnow/noalps debut release was voted best EP of 2008 in 'Toni Sant's Muzika Mod Iehor' annual listerners' poll.

After a few stints abroad in Denmark and Austria nosnow/noalps entered Temple Studios to record their debut album "ROMANTIKPOLITIK" with award-winning David Vella (of Beangrowers, Rammenstein, Phillip Boa & the Voodoo Club fame) at the production helm, and it was released at a sold-out launch show in April 2011. The album was well received by local critics and consists of 14 songs, of which the first single "Far Into the Night (Without You)" was released and went on to top the local charts for a number of weeks.

In September 2011 nosnow/noalps will be touring Milan, Paris, London, Copenhagen and Berlin and will end the tour with a celebratory homecoming gig at Valletta Notte Bianca in October.

nosnow/noalps, written in lowercase without any spaces, is made up by Nick Morales, Daniel Cassar, Sarah Falzon and Darko Strnisa from the mountainless island of Malta.

On ROMANTIK POLITIK:

"I’m heady from endless bits and pieces in the music that have a hint of familiarity yet resonate with an incisive freshness that verges on addictive" - Mike Bugeja, The Sunday Times of Malta - 10 April 2011

"RomantikPolitik may have taken a few years to arrive, but it is well worth the wait. It marks a definite progression, incorporating even more stylistic subtleties into NSNA’s core indie and Ska soundscape, and will surely be the soundtrack of the summer for the local alternative scene." - Dean Muscat, Times of Malta - 20 April 2011

"RomantikPolitik could be the birth of something great." Wayne Flask - Tune In Magazine - 27th March 2011
