BIOGRAPHY
The members of plastiq passion saw an opportunity to take an older genre near and dear to their hearts (new wave) and add to it a modern edge (a la Sleater-Kinney). Add a little blood, sweat, and tears and from the fires plastiq passion was born, a band with a clear vision to make the music that they would want to hear: polished and heart-felt songs blending the sounds of yesterday with the sounds of today. And what better way to do so than to name their band after a Cure song keeping all but one letter the same. Since their immaculate conception they have played every respectable establishment (and also dive) that New York City has to offer including (but not limited to) CBGB's, The Mercury Lounge and Pianos. They have also played some well known New Jersey establishments like Maxwell's and The Whiskey Bar. During the summer of 2008 they heroically embarked on a nation-wide tour and received excellent responses to their live show from audiences all over the country. In March 2010 they released their first full length album TO BE A BLADE OF GRASS IN CRACKED CEMENT which showcases their growth as a band since I CAN'T WAIT, their initial EP. They have been in regular rotation on DJ Rich Russo's ANYTHING, ANYTHING show, a popular radio program on NYC's only rock station 101.9 RXP since early 2009 and have and continue to play multiple showcases for them.
