'Sid Sings are a deliciously dark and dirty Blues-explosion for the True Blood generation'.
One vocal ,one guitar and pounding drums is all Sid Sings need to create their raw alternative Blues sound that has lead critics to describe them as “ A Female Robert Plant fronting The Black keys’. Known for their full on live show they have headlined many London Venues including The Blues Kitchen, The Barfly and The Borderline and have also shared the stage with The Jim Jones Revue ,Hugo Race and The Fatalists , Mama Roisin , Yat Kha , Nine Below Zero, Eli Paperboy Reed ,Johnnie Bassett and Ten Years After. They have even supported Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler from The Jam at The Forum London.
Festivals have included Guilfest, Gold Coast Ocean festival, Nozstock , Avant Garde Blues Festival Italy and Cognac Blues Passions Festival in France where they were named band of the day and stars of the nu –blues. The press described their performance as mind blowing.
Sid Sings are now out on the road with new songs from their recent EP “ Make Me Howl “ with the title track recently named Best on the Net by Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6).
“With the help of sultry Nikki the band is going from strength to strength, bringing together their own sound punctuated by Nikki’s teasing and sexy voice and interpretation. Not only are they talented musicians but they are also great songwriters as demonstrated by the twelve songs they wrote for this album, taking inspiration from the likes of Robert Johnson, Seasick ,White Stripes and The Sex Pistols .Here you have a hotter Blues Rock ,adding spice to the current delights in the Blues Kitchen” Blues Matters Magazine
"We're just going to tell you about the very very best once a week, no more time for the average, only the most exciting - we're very very selective, when we tell you it's good then it really is goooooooood... – Three piece band with an impressively busy alt.blues thing going down, feisty girl singer, think Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the run with early ZZ Top. Death Rattle Boogie opens things in a rush somewhat fitting of that song’s tasty tittle, Giddy is a seductively moody slow burner with some righteous slide guitar that really gets under your skin after a couple of spins. Put a red tick by them and keep an ear or an eye of some kind of eye/ear thing out.".......... Organ Magazine
" Giddy...This is a real masterpiece" Radio2xs
" Thats very very good " John Kennedy XFM
"dead good and dead sexy" Unpeeled Magazine
"Mixing PJ Harvey's archness with Debbie Harry's sultry caress. Shining a bright light into the typical murk of swamp blues and revealing its cross-over potential into mainstream pop .Like PJ Harvey and Jon Spenser sitting down and consciously trying to write a hit" Whisperin&Hollerin
"By all accounts one of the coolest things on the live circuit. Causing a word of mouth whisper across the knowing cognoscenti .Nikki teases , toys and trashes about with a stinging raw intensity .Both sleek and hipgrindingly groovy. Ones to watch me thinks " Losingtoday.com..................
"Simply addictive..a frenzy of swinging beats which is impossible not to tap along. Quite simply how rhythm and blues is supposed to sound" Groovemachine Magazine
