Billy has been playing piano off and on for many years, consciously avoiding traditional methodology. He has evolved a seemingly unconscious method, never trying to do anything specific, but usually producing something, often very specific. He admittedly played only for his own amusement and pleasure but never really heard what he played until recently when he finally recorded. Billy is at his best when he is not thinking or hearing, just being in the moment. Each composition and recording is a single take and it is only through the recordings that they can be heard again.
