Album Notes

This CD album titled: "Alex Wan's Dream Orchestra", is a second instrumental CD album produced by Alex Wan.
From conception to release, it took almost two years!

Alex Wan's first solo Jazz album, titled: "Cultural Fusion" which was produced and distributed worldwide in 1989.
While "Cultural Fusion"(Alex's first CD album) was a solo project by Alex Wan, featuring his compositions/arrangement and playing on all the instruments(Guitars, Basses, synthesizers), with the exception of percussion instruments which are recorded by Ricardo Monzon, a prominent percussionist from this area.

This second follow up CD album, titled: "Alex Wan's Dream Orchestra", featuring only acoustic instruments and numerous players in a chamber orchestra and also a big band, and the whole CD was recorded live in a local studio in MA!

Alex Wan took the roles as the producer, composer and arranger only, and not as performer playing in this second recording project by choice. He is planning his next third CD album in 2011, which will feature his playing as well as his trio.

Featuring four of his Classical compositions/arrangements(depicting the four seasons) and four more of his own Jazz Big Band compositions/arrangements(depicting fours cities he has lived), this CD album is a summation of his musical experiences from childhood to adulthood, and from Beatles to John Coltrane, and then to Vivaldi, or even from Santana to Frank Zappa and beyond!
It is indeed, his own musical exploration away from or escape from the conventionality and reality in his surroundings, musically speaking.
