ABOUT WILL McBRIDE:
Will is currently fronting his own jazz/funk trio, The Will McBride Group , who presents a truly unique blend of jazz, edgy funk/pop and Latin stylings, full of rich color-chording, impressive melodic solo and vocal work, all supported with superb rhythmic backing. Think Steely Dan meets Antonio Carlos Jobim meets Wes Montgomery!

The Will McBride Group performs throughout the central North Carolina area.

A gifted guitarist/songwriter/composer whose music has noticeable jazz, latin and funk influence, Will has shared the stage with many well-known musicians over his 30 year musical career. Notably, Will toured the southeastern US with “Godfather of Soul” James Brown tenor sax man, the late St. Claire Pinckney. In the mid-90's, Will’s Wilmington-based jazz group THE QUICK featured future Kenny Wayne Shepherd drummer Sam Bryant. With The Will McBride Group, he has also shared the stage with notable artists, including Latin Grammy saxophonist David Sanchez, The Voltage Brothers, and even 70's rockers Nantucket.

McBride's 2004 release "As Yet...", features six truly original compositions that combine many different styles with different flavorings of percussion, piano, keyboards, sometimes-edgy, sometimes-mellow guitar, and even some saxophone on a funky version of Thelonius Monk's classic "Well You Needn't.
