In the winter of 1999, Dan Miller embarked on a journey that most musicians would only dream of. The hit ABC, and then MTV, TV show, "Making the Band" gave Dan and the guys in O-Town their start. Catching the ear of Clive Davis, one of the most respected names in the music business,
O-Town recorded two albums on the major label, J Records. After touring the world for four years, Dan had performed on four continents, in dozens of countries, for millions of fans, resulting in a Platinum selling debut album. Dan's signature vocals were the driving force behind O-Town's number one single, "All or Nothing."

Like most fresh, young artists, Dan yearned for more creative control over his passion, his music. Over the past two years, he has been holed up in the spare-bedroom studio of his home, honing his craft of songwriting. Struggling with the pressure of living up to expectations, Dan has pushed through seemingly endless mental blocks and a bad case of perfectionism.

The telling first track on the CD, "Alone," is an introspective, epic song reminiscent of the Beatles that opened up the flood gates enabling the rest of the EP to be written. Although not formally trained, this self-taught guitarist and pianist brings us musical arrangements that are uncontrived, pure, and from the heart. The piano proves to be a fresh new medium through which Dan pours out his experiences and thoughts through melody and lyric.

"Slower than a Gun" is an impressive solo debut that puts to rest any pre-conceived notions. This piano driven, playful romp of a rock record showcases the full depth of Dan's talents. Enjoy.

    Slower Than A Gun is the most beautiful cd I've heard in a long time. I always loved Dan Miller's voice, since he was in Otown and Im so happy he made a solo cd. He plays piano and guitar very well on the cd. I love how "Bumblebee" has a fun jazz sound to it. His voice is showcased very well through these songs. I love listening to "Slower than a Gun" when I get up for school and in the evening. Dan has such feeling in his voice, and he is a trully talented artist. Hope to hear a longer cd from him!!!!!

    As his first solo c.d. i thought it was Excellent. Bumblebee is one of my favorite tracks with him showing off is voice at the end. But the c.d. was pretty short i hope that there is much more coming though!

    When O-Town was out, I was really more of a Dan Miller fan as opposed to the rest of the group. I am in love with his voice, and I think he's unbelievably talented. I'm so relieved that he finally put out some solo songs, and I am not let down in the least by Slower Than A Gun. You can get a sense of his character by listening to his lyrics, and the fact that he taught himself both the guitar AND the piano is beyond impressive. "Move The Sun" is definitely my favorite song on the EP. All in all, this cd is kick ass. You've done a fantastic job, Dan, and I can't wait to hear what else you come up with. :)

    AGREED - Thank god for Dan Miller! I've had 'slower than a gun' now for about two weeks & it hasn't stopped playing. My expectations were already extremely high, because we all know what Dan's capable of, & this CD completely blew my expectations out of the roof. Dan's voice is FLAWLESS. Listen to ‘Move the Sun’ or ‘Alone’ just once & I promise you, you will be hooked by the chorus.     Wow, what can you say about the cd. Dan did an amazing job on the cd. I loved all the songs, but Bumblebee, has caught my ears more. That song to me had more of a feel of say a musical/caberet *spell*. Each song on the cd is an orignal because you will not hear it anywhere else. Great cd to own.

The presence of such influential musical styles (like that of the Beatles) make listening to these tracks a pleasure. This EP fulfills its role perfectly, it makes the listener eager for Dan's album in it's entirety. This is a great step back into the music scene for a remarkable talent.

    I got this CD in the mail yesterday, and I haven't stopped listening to it. The songs and of course the vocals are just amazing. Alone and Bumblebee are my favorites on the album. Very good CD overall, and I would definitely recommend this album to people out there. Can't wait to hear more stuff from Dan... Way to go Dan!

    DAN MILLER has created such an amazing cd. The songs and sound is so oriinal. The music on his cd "Slower Than A Gun" is not like any music being played these days. I love that.
