Scoundrel Blues by Bo'weevil
Release: 2013
0
Reviews:
Bo'weevil were a 5piece,sometimes 6 piece, rhythm and blues band who were together in one form or another for about 15 years. Hailing from the central belt the band based themselves in Edinburgh and played extensively in the UK and further afield. To begin with Bo'weevil set out to emulate the authentic blues sounds of Elmore James, BB King and Robert Johnston and were heavily influenced by Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Tracks such as 'Shake Your Money Maker', 'Stop Messin' Around' and 'Love that Burns' appearing in their set alongside their own material. By the time the band came to record their debut album 'Scoundrel Blues' they had very much developed their own sound. The CD sold well for an independant release and received favourable reviews from some major music magazines. The CD received air play from various radio stations in the UK and abroad. Bob Harris played a few tracks from the album on his Radio 1 show and was axed shortly afterwards!!(coincidence I'm sure).
