notes

Independent Songwriter Magazine says of Robb Bledsoe: Rated 5 STARS: His voice glides within the melody; serenity that lulls the consciousness into a special place of inner awareness. There's antiquated charm woven into every note. Peaceful. Romantic. Lovely. Above all, it's honest. The rustic hometown spirit is so pure and real.... This is one album that all grassroots music lovers should have faithfully spinning in their CD players. ISWM INDIE PICK OF THE MONTH - August 2001

If Peter, Paul and Mary had not been together in the 60's one of them would have sounded this way. 4 STARS Rhett Ashley, International Country Music Association, January 2002 Newsletter

Robb Bledsoe has a smooth, warm voice with a wide vocal range and a style that is sometimes compared to Gordon Lightfoot, Waylon Jennings, and Andy Williams, with a touch of Roy Orbison and a blend of Garth Brooks. Robb's eloquent vocals are well suited to his pop, folk and ballad singing and song writing. His finger picking is very pleasant to the ear.
Robb is currently performing an acoustic solo act singing Americana, folk songs, ballads, children's songs, and gospel. Robb writes and performs several of his own songs that are well received and covers many popular songs of the 50's 60's 70's, including a few TV theme songs. While he interprets songs of many genres, his first love is folk music and love ballads.
Robb's musical influences come from several genres and writers, including Tony Joe White, John Fogerty, Willie Nelson, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor. Robb's favorite artists include those above as well as Emmy Lou Harris, John Hartford, Richard Hefner, and Patsy Cline. He has performed at Generations Night Club in Sunset Hills, MO, Borders Books, Music and Cafe, the Cahokia Public Library, St. Louis Downtown Parks Airport Concourse, the Focal Point in Maplewood, MO, the Cahokia Illinois Old Time Music Fete, several coffee houses in the St Louis Area, and has been heard on radio station KDHX FM88.1 in St Louis as well as other stations across the US, Australia and Europe. He also performs for private parties and picnics in the greater St Louis Metro area.
Robb's song entitled SHILOH appears on SONGWRITERS COMPILATION DISK II published by Millennium Records in Nashville, TN. and enjoys distribution throughout Europe. He was published in SINGOUT! The Folk Music Magazine Spring 2001 issue.
Robb was voted Songwriter of the Month for September 2001 by readers of Independent Songwriter Magazine. International Country Music Association has awarded Robb the prestigious Gold Standard award for his song SHILOH.
Robb's CDs, RINGO FORD and MILE MARKER 49, are available at www.cdbaby.com/robbbledsoe. He encourages fans to bring tape recorders to his concerts.
Robb is a graduate of Belleville Area College. He has served as ecclesiastical leader to two congregations in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, worked as a Sunday School teacher, youth counselor, and volunteer reading tutor. He taught hunter safety classes and American Sign Language. He lectures on love and improving marital relationships.
Robb is a member of the AF&AM Emeth Lodge 1030, ASCAP, Folk Alliance, Nashville Songwriters Association International, American Federation of Musicians Local 717, UAW Local 1887, and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Robb was born in April 1953 in St Louis, Missouri. As a teenager, he wrote songs and poetry for his friends. Robb sang and played guitar in the US Military for parties and homecomings. He married Carol Grigsby in 1973. They have two children and a growing number of grandchildren. Robb and his wife currently reside in the Saint Louis Missouri area.

  • Its FANTASTIC
    author: Pam Crockett

I listen to it almost every day, I think Robb has not only the voice for these songs but has put his heart and soul into the songs. I tell all my friends about it. I feel if a song doesnt have meaning to it then it shouldnt be published, and Robb has accomplished this in all of these songs. I cant wait til his next CD.
