Black Irish Band: Ireland's Song (2012)
Sonora’s Black Irish Band is releasing its 22nd album entitled- Ireland’s Song. The album features 14 songs all about Irelands History. Many of the songs date back as far as the 1600s, and tell the story of rebellion, immigration, love, and drinking. The album features original band members Patrick Michael Karnahan, Richard Restivo, and Steve McArthur.
Fans of the band are sure to enjoy this very first all-Irish CD. Many of the ballads featured have been performed by the band since the early days, and have remained as standards for the band in concert. “These songs are performed from our bands sole, full of life, and forever timeless”- (Patrick Karnahan.) The list of songs includes: Irish Rover, Jug of Punch, Brennan on the Moor, The Wearing of the Green, Gary Owen, Georgie, Roddy McCorley, Spancil Hill, Road to Lisdoonvarna, Waxies Dargle, Wreck of the Pomona, Carrickfergus, Black Velvet, and the Parting Glass.
Also featured on the new album are members David Rainwater and Jam
