    Reid Jamieson
    The Presley Sessions
Canadian singer songwriter Reid Jamieson brings you The Presley Sessions. A limited edition fifties era tribute to the late Elvis Presley.
About The Presley Sessions: A 50s era tribute to Elvis! NOTE: If above says OUT OF STIOCK please go be assured stock is on the way and it will be available VERY soon. \"Prepare to be surprised...\" - Vancouver Province \"Absolutely gorgeous\" - Maverick (UK) \"Beautifully done...a truly authentic voice.\" - Molly Johnson In honour of the 30th anniversary of Elvis’ untimely demise, Canadian singer songwriter Reid Jamieson brings you The Presley Sessions. Originally titled ‘For the Colonel, with Love’ this fifties era tribute album was initially recorded it as a birthday gift for his longtime sweetheart/manager CVM (affectionately nicknamed ‘the Colonel’ after Presley’s rambunctious and rather opportunistic manager). True to her namesake, she just couldn’t resist sending it out there to see if someone saluted, which they did, and friends at Banbury Park Records quickly scooped it up as it fit perfectly with their catalogue of retro inspired music. Not to be confused with an impersonator, Reid lends his own compelling voice to this tender tribute, singing songs originally recorded in the late 1950s back when Elvis still had a last name. Recorded on his own at home, with Reid singing harmonies and playing each instrument himself, this disc has a whole lot of soul. A long time fan of the King, especially early and lesser known recordings such as ‘Is It So Strange’, Reid also enjoyed performing the hits like ‘One Night’ and ‘Any Way You Want Me’ when ever the spirit called -and it did. Inspired vocal performances coupled with Reid’s spirited guitar playing make this a musical love letter that will light up the hearts of Presley (and Jamieson) fans everywhere. You know your mom wants a copy... Press: \"Achingly beautiful songs...A haunting quality not soon forgotten\" - Globe and Mail \"After Reid appeared on the Vinyl Cafe we received tremendous feedback from our audience. He stole the show... He blew me away.\" - Stuart McLean/CBC\'s Vinyl Cafe \'Arresting...dazzling voice\' - Toronto Sun \"Neither derivative nor nostalgic...The Unavoidable Truth, is a work of elegant, understated beauty... enveloping the listener in the atmospheric glow of his soulful vocals.\" - Paste Magazine (4 to Watch For) \'In a few short bars Reid stole the show...\' - Now Magazine \'Irresistible...\' - Eye Magazine \'Well-constructed pop treasures that rival Glenn Tilbrook\'s compositional prowess and the emotionally potent presentation of Jeff Buckley... gorgeous, unbridled voice beams thoughtful lyrics over a vintage country-inspired band.\' - MilesOfMusic.com \'More than just another promising upstart... rootsy, mellow and honey-sweet.\' - TorontoLife.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Reid: Reid Jamieson is a classic Canadian heartbreaker with an incredible voice and a magical way with melodies. His latest full length disc The Unavoidable Truth, was produced by Josh Finlayson (Gord Downie Band , Skydiggers) and features guest appearances from Sarah Harmer & Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo, Wilco) while showcasing his choirboy ways, therapeutic lyrics and country-flavoured pop hooks. Reid recently moved from Toronto to Victoria BC to write his next record and is a regular on CBC\'s Vinyl Cafe. Fans of Damien Rice, Ron Sexsmith, Neil Finn and Jeff Buckley will welcome the new addition to their collection of tender troubadours.
