Monica Lisa Stevenson has been lauded one of the most prolific artists in Gospel Music Today.
Monica Lisa Stevenson was born in Atlanta, Georgia into a talented family of singers. The eldest of six children, she and her siblings were raised in Wetumpka, Alabama, where they were inspired, encouraged, and trained by their parents, the late George Bowen and Pearlie Ellis
After returning to Atlanta in 1986, she began to minister in song and organized Lisa Stevenson & Company in 1997. Monica Lisa was licensed as minister of the gospel in 1998. Since then she has traveled and sung background with such recording artists as the legendary Canton Spirituals, Angie Spivey, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood, Elder Kervy Brown, Dottie Peoples, The Williams Brothers, Nancy Jackson, Byron Cage, Prophetess Juanita Bynum, Darlene McCoy and countless others. Monica Lisa is well respected in the local and national gospel music industry.
Monica Lisa has a litany of achievements and experiences in various fields. She is a nationally recognized Praise and Worship leader that takes joy in singing for a variety of audiences, performing at several events in the Atlanta area such as, ministered on Atlanta Live, Taste of Atlanta, Atlanta Gospel Choice Awards, Sweet Auburn Festival, Dogwood Festival, and For Sisters Only, Lexus Event, to name a few. In 2007, she received two nominations for the Atlanta Gospel Choice Awards for “New Artist of the Year” & “Best New Artist”. In September 2008, she received the Best Female Artist Award. She was a recipient for the 2008 Sickle Smart Award for the Sickle Cell Foundation, where her song Lord Keep Me is featured on the compilation project. She was blessed to record and release her first debut single in April 2007. She released her first debut album, entitled “Finally in God’s Time” in March 2009.
She is the proud mother of four children, Qwenton, Khalon, D’errica and Derrick, Jr., and a dedicated wife to Mr. Derrick Stevenson who is also her music director and producer and a great part in her musical career. She is a devoted member of the New Life International Family Church, where the Bishop Jeronn C. Williams is her pastor.
