Put Your Arms Around Me, Honey – For you song buffs this chart starts with the verse in 3/4 and moves to 7/4 for the melody then to 4/4 and continues through the wringer. Bob Summers Trumpet solo. Pete DeSiena Lead Trumpet.
Limes Away – Chord changes sound like “Limehouse Blues” Why is that? Great solos here by Andy Langham Piano, Bob Summers Trumpet and Tom Luer Alto Sax. Lead Trumpet Tony Bonsera lifts the whole band on the last ensemble. I love it!
Slow Walkin’ – Neal Hefti lives! I wrote about five of these Lil’ Darlin’ type charts. Again, melodic easy listening. Tom Luer Alto solo. Lead Trumpet Adolfo Acosta.
Minus Five – Years ago I tried to write a song using mostly major 7th chords with flat fives or minus fives as they are sometimes called. Hence the title. This is a Piano feature for Andy Langham. Lead Trumpet Tony Bonsera and Adolfo Acosta.
Sprung Time - Written about the end of Spring. You know, when Spring has Sprung? Try whistling this melody. This is a melody? Baritone Sax solo Brian Williams. Trumpet solo Mark Lewis. Lead Trumpet Pete DeSiena.
Avalon – Let the Tenors play! Features Tenor Sax soloists Kevin Garren [first] and Vince Trombetta. Outstanding performance here by the whole band. Drummer Bob Leatherbarrow holds it all together. Lead Trumpet Tony Bonsera.
