    The Ragbirds
    Finally Almost Ready
Infectious Global Groove - from Folk to Rock to Reggae, from Gypsy to African, all woven together cohesively by a sweet voiced woman. "a wonderful combination of clever songwriting and heartfelt performances." (Phil Nicolo - Grammy Award Winning Producer)
A note from the songwriter: "'Finally Almost Ready' is a phrase that is like a snapshot of my life right now - it has taken me so long to get here and *finally!* I'm (almost!) ready to jump out of the proverbial nest and really fly. The artwork shows the band all contemplating the jump, seeing the distance to the ground, seeing the big strange world below us with scared and hopeful looks on our faces. It is meant to be a ridiculous statement - either you're ready or you're not! - but saying "I'm almost ready" clearly states both your intent and your hesitation. The songs on the record are about making big changes - breaking out of your own limitations, addictions and habits and taking little steps towards freedom. There is a real fragile braveness in me that these songs echo. The title track "Finally Almost Ready" is about a woman who ignores her own heart (she even ignores a prophecy spoken to/about her) for years and then finally within the tangle of her unfulfilled life decides she's ready "to go". The song doesn't say where she's going because it's more about the process of making the decision. It doesn't even matter where she's going- the listener can tell it is where she is meant to be and that she knows it. In the end the chorus is suddenly in the first person so everyone who has been taking their whole lives to get ready to do something important can sing along and know that it is their story too. So that's the story in a nutshell. I hope you enjoy the songs!" -e
