    Mind Soup
    Love Songs For Gifted Children
The highly acclaimed second album by IDM alchemists, Mind Soup
Mind Soup returns with the anticipated follow up album, LOVE SONGS FOR GIFTED CHILDREN. This album has the classic Mind Soup artistry intact but also sees an evolution to incorporate an ever-expanding range of influences. The music is confident and has purpose. It spans from slightly dark and brooding, to fun and inspiring. Some of the musical dirges from THE RULES OF NOTHING have been replaced with shorter thematic portraits, which should excite new and old listeners alike. For more music or a longer preview of this album visit their website at mind-soup.com -- Having a starting lineup of Alex Windisch, Max Monks, Chris Ertel, and BJ Schweinlin, Mind Soup began in Cincinnati OH as a 4 piece band with psycadelic roots. After a few months of writing and a general disdain with the material, it was discovered that every band member was into electronic music on the side. On a whim they assembled in Chris Ertel’s 208 State studio to write some electronic music merely to see what would happen. The musical satisfaction they were striving for suddenly came into being and the current sonic incarnation of Mind Soup was born. Early on, Alex Windisch left the band to pursue a slightly different musical path forming the side project “Frameshift Experiment” with Chris Ertel. During work on their first album “The Rules of Nothing”, Mind Soup rented a cabin in the middle of the hills of Tennessee and filled it with virtually every instrument they could get their hands on. Having complete isolation left them with very long and very late hours on end of writing and recording which contributed to the dark and desolate feel of their debut album. Mind Soup’s early success was included on Elysian Vibes II by One World Music, and added to various Peace Lounge Recordings. Mind Soup was then included on various online broadcasts such as DI.fm and have enjoyed being among those on rotation on the nationally syndicated radio show Echoes.
