    Kronos
    Kronopolis Rising "States of Slumber!"-EP
    Music for movies and soundtracks.
Biography Kronos was born Yves Verela on the island of Hispaniola (Haiti) to a work at home mother and an Optician father. Upon his birth, Kronos was taken to the heads of state (churches) to be baptised. By the age of 16, Kronos and his family had already migrated to the sunny shores of Miami Florida due to the increasingly violent civil unrest Haiti was experiencing under the Duvalier regime. He began rejecting the dogmatic teachings of the state early on, but kept the blessings afforded to him through his creative endeavors. Having been raised on classical music, European television, and traditional Hatian (African) arts, an unusual but formidable perspective of creative forces began taking root. Poetry, music, photography, literature, philosophy and various other disciplines help to further define and mature the nature of his work. He went on to receive a degree in History and later attended several institutes for both photography and graphic design. Kronos began hitting the Miami poetry and art scene in the mid 90’s. He was quickly welcomed for his unusual perspective and ability to turn any given moment into a litany of graphic typography, that seemingly warped the fabric of time. All the meanwhile sharpening his production skills behind the boards. This earned him the respect of both the underground hip-hop scene and the bourgeoning art scene that could be found at establishments such as “The House”, FeCuO, and open mics at Dokaru and Churchhill’s Theater Underground. Because of his gifted abilities as a poet and lyricists he was chosen by Miami New Times (www.miaminewtimes.com/bestof/award.php?award=16610as) as best poet of the year in 2004. He was later published by several literary magazines that same year. In 2004 Kronos also helped solidify the groundbreaking art collective Nagchampayons, which redifined what the sound of Miami could be, with enough creativity and cohones (http://www.nagchampayons.com/) to toot. Kronos has produced music for MTV Latina, Optic Nerve, and Hard Rock Cafe. He has also currated, scored, and lended his talents to various art galleries and projects working with the likes of FeCuOp (Jason Fergerson, Curiel, Brandon Opalka) The Rhythm Foundation, Community Arts and Culture, The Dorsch Gallery, Mocha (Miami), Mad studios, Jason Fittipaldi, Ayana Valencia Jackson, VSL productions, Airborn Audio (formerly Antipop Consortium), Earthworks (Soarse Spoken/Punchenelo), and Art Basel just to name a few. Many lives later with no master to be found, Kronos has decided to erect his own city of sounds Kronopolis Rising "States Of Slumber!" with its own music and dialect (check insert of CD). A creative and extraodinarilly gifted force embarking on a meteoric path hell bent and heaven sent on reconstructing our collective perspective through the use of his enclave of behemoth talents. “Cats get stamped - damp end - by the logos - in creole call it poto- a stick that reaches heaven's lips-slides back down to earth on Jacob's ladder-mother ship."
