Barbelo, home of the divine, is the realm of immortals, both Gods and Masters. Barbelo is also the name of the Mexican band created by Daniel Trevino and Rodolfo Garza that has developed a unique music style: Quantum music, a rich fusion of electronic sounds and ancient instruments. By means of this concept, the band intends to reflect and to make awareness of the spiritual link that exists between Earth and human beings.
Barbelo has launched its first album "Ethnoaural", which includes styles ranging from electronic/lounge to contemporary ethnic music. Also, other styles such as jazz, classical and progressive rock refine Barbelo’s unparalleled musical concept reflected in this work. Mexican musician and composer Jorge Reyes (Suspended Memories, jointly with American musician Steve Roach and Spanish composer/guitarist Suso Saiz), famous all over the world due to his contribution to contemporary ethnic music, has produced "Ethnoaural", where he also plays the flute and other prehispanic instruments in most of the themes.
About the album:
“Ethnoaural” is a collection of 9 themes composed by Barbelo and Jorge Reyes that results in a magical mixture where Jorge Reyes’ prehispanic instrumentation is perfectly intertwined with Barbelo’s atmospheric, digitally-oriented proposal. Jorge Reyes’ supreme direction, under Peter Avar’s sound engineering supervision, makes “Ethnoaural” a must-have for collectors.
For the first time, the great American singer Susan Lincoln collaborates with Barbelo, singing with a beautiful Hildegard-von-Bingen-style. Susan’s chants represent the voice of Mother Earth performing a healing ritual with which she not only cures mankind, but also cures herself.
About Daniel and Rodolfo:
A “few” years ago, both met in Elementary school. However, they had not realized at that time they would be a duet until Jr. High, when they started to talk about the importance of spirit and consciousness and, naturally, about the greatest new-age hits such as those by Vangelis, Enya, Andreas Vollenweider, George Winston and Jorge Reyes. From this point on, Daniel and Rodolfo began an association that resulted in friendship and in unlimited musical creation.
This project counts on the collaboration of other talented musicians with different nationalities, representing human kind’s oneness. Instruments such as cello, sax, acoustic drums and electric guitars, are elements that embellish Barbelo’s musical concept: A fascinating work where rich sounds, styles, fusions and instruments create a magical collage that starts a new, timeless musical trend.

La fusión única de sonidos electrónicos y étnicos en un paisaje a través de un variado conjunto de estilos musicales, es el aspecto más atractivo de este álbum, el cual satisface al oído más experimentado, en un viaje de escenas electro-acústicas. Esta música logra que la imaginación vuele a tierras distantes donde el aroma de la Madre Naturaleza hace recordar la conexión que existe entre la Tierra y los seres humanos. Lleno de color, este collage multi-instrumental es una mezcla excitante de flautas mágicas, ritmos energéticos y cantos sacros que convergen en un salto cuántico que hará que quien lo escuche “entre a un más alto nivel de conciencia”.
Barbelo, hogar de lo divino, es el reino de los inmortales, dioses y maestros. Barbelo es también el nombre de la banda mexicana compuesta por Daniel Treviño y Rodolfo Garza que ha desarrollado un estilo musical único: Música Cuántica, una rica fusión de sonidos electrónicos y de instrumentos ancestrales. Por medio de este concepto, la banda intenta reflejar y hacer conciencia de la relación espiritual que existe entre la Tierra y los seres humanos.
Barbelo ha lanzado su primer álbum “Ethnoaural”, el cual incluye estilos desde lo electrónico/lounge hasta la música étnica contemporánea. También, otros estilos como el jazz, la música clásica y el rock progresivo, refinan un estilo sin precedentes que es reflejado en este trabajo. El músico y compositor mexicano Jorge Reyes (Suspended Memories, con el músico norteamericano Steve Roach y el compositor y guitarrista español Suso Saiz), famoso en todo el mundo debido a su gran contribución a la música étnica contemporánea, ha producido “Ethnoaural”, en donde también toca las flautas y otros instrumentos prehispánicos en la mayor parte de los temas.

"Ethnoaural" es una colección de 9 temas compuestos por Barbelo y Jorge Reyes, donde el resultado es una mágica mezcla donde la instrumentación prehispánica de Jorge se entreteje perfectamente en un contexto de atmósferas y música digital propuestos por Barbelo. La magistral dirección del maestro Reyes, bajo la lupa sonora de Peter Avar, hacen de estas melodías un disco obligado para los coleccionistas.
Por primera vez, la gran cantante Americana Susan Lincoln colabora con Barbelo, cantando en un estilo tipo Hildegard von Bingen. Los cantos de Susan representan la voz de la Madre Tierra llevando a cabo un ritual de sanación en el que no solo cura a la humanidad, sino también a ella misma.
Sobre Daniel y Rodolfo:
Hace “algunos” años, ambos se conocieron en la etapa de estudiantes de escuela primaria. Sin embargo, no se habían percatado en este tiempo que serían un dueto sino hasta llegar a la época de la preparatoria, donde empezaron a conversar sobre la importancia del espíritu y de la conciencia y, naturalmente, de los grandes éxitos de artistas como Vangelis, Enya, Andreas Vollenweider, George Winston y Jorge Reyes. Desde este punto, Daniel y Rodolfo iniciaron una asociación que resultó en amistad y en una ilimitada creatividad musical.
Este proyecto cuenta con la participación de otros músicos talentosos invitados de diferentes nacionalidades, representando la unidad de la humanidad. Instrumentos como el cello, el sax, las baterías acústicas y las guitarras eléctricas, son elementos que embellecen el concepto musical de Barbelo: Un trabajo fascinante donde la riqueza de sonidos, estilos, fusiones e instrumentos crea un collage mágico que marca el inicio de una nueva y atemporal tendencia musical.
