    Scelerata
    Darkness and Light
This bands sound is familiar and yet has their own thing, blending speed prog metal ala ANGRA and SONATA ARCTICA with some more Hard rock influences of Riffy metal, then ad in a vocal with the tonal attitude of Bruce Dickinson.
This bands sound is familiar and yet has their own thing, blending speed prog metal ala ANGRA and SONATA ARCTICA with some more Hard rock influences of Riffy metal, then ad in a vocal with the tonal attitude of Bruce Dickinson and you have some idea of what were talking about. Scelerata was signed to Nightmare because of their dedication to spreading their music to the world, This band has toured with Angra in Brazil, worked stages with many magnificent artists, and are poised to make big noise now in the USA and Canada with their new release "Darkness and Light". This album was released in Japan and Europe and Brazil, and Nightmare wanted to help the band in their quest for worldwide domination. Scelerata has blended many elements of metal and hardrock to make their own alloy of metal, found therein is Speed, power, melody, technical prowess, and headbanging pleasure combined with good lyrical content. REVIEW TAKEN FROM MELODICROCK.COM The soft, peaceful intro lulls the listener into a false sense of security, as the opening bars of the album immediately start beating the listener over the head with a baseball bat. From the first riff, this album is relentless - furious and completely in your face. This kind of swirling triple-time metal inspired by the likes of Iron Maiden, Helloween and Dream Theater comes courtesy of Brazilian metal outfit Scelerata. This kind of relentless hammering of the ears is not for everyone and even some genuine metal-heads should investigate before buying. It sure isn't early morning wake-up music. A straight ahead dose of in your face European metal here. Review taken from Metal to Infinity rating 89/100 METAL TO INFINITY Power Metal fanatics better can give some attention to what i have to say about a band called Scelerata! They're from Brazil and the ranks exists from very talented musicians charged with excellent skills. About the style these guys delivering to the masses i'd like to define as Euro Power Metal that does me strongly thinking of the Italian scene and their pioneers such as Labyrinth, Vision Divine, Skylard and so on. Also bands as Angra, Helloween,...can be added to this list. High vocals, jet ear guitar duels which sound professionally a lot, surrounded by a well skilled drum smasher and a bassist that proves to be the owner of numerous specialized technics how to treat its instrument. to make it short, Scelerata exist from superior members only! There is also a progressive screen audible which gives a more attractive and variable touch to the total parcel. The CD starts with an intro followed by a great song entitled "Holy Fire" and you'll definitely knows with what type of band we have to do here. Pitching vox, awesome melodies including superb works of both guitarists...a song that can kills anyway! Next "Eminence" same way out but played with some more melancholy. "The Spell Of Time" is one of my favourite one because of the way this song is build up. This one starts real slow and easy to change into a real world class Power Metal song. What knocks me totally out of control are both guitarists. Influenced by the greatest axe grinders walking on earth, Scelerata's guitarists to bring me in a very pleasant environment. Believe me undoubtedly when I say you that "Darkness And Light" goes this way further to end. The two longest tracks which stand on this CD "Spirits Looking For" and "Adonai (Sacred Melodies)" can also described as my own favourite ones. Everything are present exclamation these two as full pearls of Prog / Power Metal with style! The production / sound quality of this piece is celestial good, just like the great looking booklet counting a lot of pages. Nothing shortage to information, Japanese Record label Spiritual Beast can be more than proud for the end result. A vertebate release that has not missed its impact...die-hard Prog / Power Metal fans better start looking for it, you will have no spite of it at all.
