"The Gift Of Love" celebrates the true "reason for the season", the birth of Jesus Christ some 2,000 years ago, in story and song.
"The Gift Of Love" includes 14 brand-new, unique and original soon-to-be Christmas classics, all written by the award-winning team of brothers Ken and Scott Nelson, in collaboration with acclaimed "Day Of Discovery" composer and performer John Daniels (musical director on Nelson's 2004 international hit "Strange Kisses", available through CD Baby) and Gospel music legend Bob Wills.
A departure from the Sinatra-style standards Nelson is well-known for (check out his "Let's Swing...A-Ding-Ding!", also available through CD Baby), this nearly hour-long compact disc is an eclectic mix of various musical styles from Jazz and Calypso to Folk, Praise, Gospel and more! Several of the songs...including the title tune...were introduced in Nelson's Richard Rodgers Award-nominated musical "A Country Christmas Carol" (I.E.Clark Publishing), while others were written especially for this recording.

Nelson's own parish plans to have the children's choir perform excerpts annually as part of Christmas Eve mass. Actor-Singer-Songwriter Ken Nelson is a member of AEA (Actors' Equity Association) and ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), and is eligible for membership in SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild), as well. In the past two decades, he has written, produced and directed over fifty stage plays and musicals, interactive dinner theatre productions, revues and one-acts in a variety of venues ranging from civic and community theatres to church, educational and for-profit houses. Both professional and amateur companies (including students) have performed in these works. Since 1999 (and the release of his debut CD "Let's Swing...A-Ding-Ding!"), he has traveled extensively with "Frank & Friends"--a tribute to Mr. Sinatra and his contemporaries. Audiences from coast-to-coast (New York, Los Angeles, Branson, Shreveport and beyond) have enjoyed his vocal stylings in this one-man show, accompanied by his brother, Scott.
Nelson has assisted in casting for television, film and commercial projects, worked as an on-set tutor, and for two seasons was on the crew of the "Dallas" TV series. Currently on sabbatical, he taught beginning acting and on-camera TV commercial workshops and was the children's director at Dallas' KD Studio, Actors Conservatory of the Southwest for twelve years, where he founded the Class A.C.C.T.* (*A Creative Children's Theatre) community outreach program, an off-shoot of his T.L.C. (Teens Living in Christ) youth drama ministry. He was also associated with the Dallas Summer Musicals School of Musical Theatre for three seasons following his tenure at KD Studio. Nelson is a former resident company member and acting teacher at Casa Manana Playhouse and Theatre School in Ft. Worth, Texas, as well.
Ken Nelson is an honors graduate of Rutgers University and Middlesex College in his native New Jersey, and the Film Actors' Lab and KD Studio, both in Dallas. He holds a BA degree in Mass Communications and an Associates in Liberal Arts with a minor in Theatre and is a T.E.A. (Texas Education Association) approved instructor of drama. While in college, Nelson interned at CBS and NBC television in New York City and in regional summer stock theatre with Plays-In-The-Park (Menlo Park, NJ).
