notes
The long anticipated independent solo CD project by Alan Paul of the legendary group The Manhattan Transfer has finally been released to the general public. This album was originally released in 2003 and only available to music supervisors, advertising agencies and production companies as part of the Peermusic catalog for synchronization usage in film, television and new media projects.
Another Place And Time is a modern re-creation of the classic Pop Vocal albums of the 1950's and 1960's by crooners like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin with 15 wonderfully lush tracks. The sessions with a 32-piece orchestra, led by David Snyder, were recorded at Capitol's historic Studio A. The album features 15 lush and lovely tracks, such as the standards "Stardust", "You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You", "Alright Okay You Win", "Baia" and "Can't Get Out Of This Mood", plus the title-track, "Another Place And Time", which is the first-ever recording of a new Michel Legrand melody, with lyrics by fellow Frenchman Marc Lauren and Nashville songwriter Rick Carnes. Their is also a guest appearance by The Manhattan Transfers Janis Siegel on "Everything's made For Love".
For Alan, the making of this album was a labor of love working with so many fantastic musicians and creating a music rarity and he is excited about sharing it with his music fans.
Alan co-produced the CD with David Snyder, who also did many of the orchestrations.

THE GREAT ONE!
author: Julie Esposito, SingerAlan Paul is simply mind blowing-- a singer's singer to be sure. He has a wonderful voice, reads a lyric with heartfelt precision, and has great musical taste, as demonstrated on this CD. Wish he would play live more!

Absolutely great CD!
author: JanI love this CD! Alan's voice is so smooth, and well, just very relaxing. All the songs are great, but I especially enjoy his rendition of Stardust, One Morning in May, and the duo with Janis Siegel, Everything's Made for Love. I've been playing it every day since it arrived. Thank you, Alan.
all's right with the world
author: steveThere's something so nice and reassuring about this CD-- I get a feeling when I listen to it that the songs are in great hands. Also, Alan Paul sounds so at home in his classic style-- I'm so glad he doesn't put an ironic spin on it, or overdo it for the sake of being showy. Guess what I'm saying is, here's a singer who sounds like he knows himself well, loves the songs, and wants to share them. Cool. I love it.

A Lot Of Great Classic Swing
author: David AlvarezIt has been a long long time waiting for the first solo album of great singer Alan Paul and, finally, I must say this is one of the best classic jazz albums I've ever heard for a long time. Just keep your atention on Stardust, One Morning In May, I Get Along or the fantastic duo with Manhattan Transfer partner Janis Siegel on Everything's Made For Love, just to name a few songs of this marvelous album.
Really good music!
author: StephanieVery good CD. It's nice hearing Alan Paul striking out on his own, and this CD showcases his vocal talent. His interpretation of "Stardust" is a winner. Hope to see more solo work from this highly talented singer.

The golden voice of Alan Paul....Simply Amazing!
author: JohnWhat a joy listening to this CD. It's not often these days that a major artist releases a CD loaded with great old standards like this one. On top of the great musicianship, there is a bonus.....the golden voice of Alan Paul. His voice is strong and right on. He hasn't lost anything after all these years.
