notes
""It is truly an honor for me to recommend the music of Alan and Lita Blake Music Group for live performances or events that call for live upbeat music. Alan and Lita are an extraordinary team whose experience with other artists affords them a unique musical perspective that I thoroughly enjoy."-Najee
Alan and Lita Blake performed at the 100 Black Men "Le Cabaret" event prior to the Frankie Beverly and Maze concert at the Georgia World Congress Center-June 16th 2006. They opened for Chaka Khan in May 2007 for Le Cabaret 2007.
Alan and Lita performed in Jan. 2006 for Prime Minister Denzil Douglas of St. Kitts/Nevis Island......
"A sumptuous dinner followed the Prime Minister’s New Year’s Toast but the top-class international entertainment during the dinner was added dessert. Guests were enthralled by the highly active and talented group Just the Two of Us (Alan and Lita Blake) out of Atlanta, Georgia with guitarist Marlon Merritt out of Nashville Tennessee."
Alan and Lita have a style all their own. It's a fusion of jazz, dance, r&b, soul, ethnic and popular music that transcends traditional borders.
They have toured and recorded with artists such as the late Grover Washington Jr., the late George Howard, Jean Carne, Kevin Eubanks, and Rachelle Ferrell. They have performed at the Saratoga Springs Jazz Festival, Baltimore Harbor Jazz series, and several national venues with the late George Howard, Fairmount Park Philadelphia with jazz saxophonist the late Grover Washington Jr., the Hampton University Jazz Festival, Trinity College Workshop, Penns Landing jazz series, as well as the famous Blue Note jazz club in New York with jazz violinist John Blake, University of Pennsylvania Medical School Jazz events, “Chastain at the Cascades” Jazz concert series, Third World Festival at Centennial Park (2003), Swarthmore College Student Union Jazz concert series, “Jazz by the Lake” concert series in Stone Mountain, GA, St. Kitts Prime Ministers’ New Years Ball (2006), Morehouse School of Medicine Caribbean event, Atlanta Technical Institute concert series, performed prior to Jeffrey Osborne in June, 2005 at the benchmark 100 Black Men event “Le Cabaret” in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as numerous functions and events for many weddings, orporations and philanthropic organizations.
This self-produced variety CD "You're The One For Me" "officially" released Oct. 2004 has already gained recognition on Broadjam.com......
A new CD "Think Twice" is scheduled for release in April/May 2008.

Soothing for the soul.
author: Kwesi AyoThis cd is classic!! This is were hip hop gets its influence from. Jazz music that is soothing to the soul. Fight For Us !!
Awesome quality, mixed well, very smooth audio
author: Ernie Lansford Java Jazz and Praise Radio NetworkI host Java Jazz and Praise in 12 markets in FL, IA and KS. I feature independent artists like Alan and Lita Blake when available. I featured Alan and Lita on my May 06, 2006 program. Awesome sound, smooth vocals and tight music. Great radio!!
........Evidently Alan is a studio whiz, a brilliant keyboardist....
author: John StevensonThis is a lets-hit-all-bases cornucopia where Al Jarreau-style smooth pop ("Friday Night") competes with a New Jack vibe ("Cool Mood"), and where southern African dance tunes ("Way Down In South Africa") jostle alongside electronically-derived swing ("You!!"). Evidently Alan is a studio whiz, a brilliant keyboardist and a singer of note.

These two are great at making music.
Makes me Dance!!!
author: Jim KlossI just heard Way Down In South Africa from the 'You're The One For Me' CD on Whole Wheat Radio.com and wanted to say ... I LOVE THIS SONG! It makes me want to dance every time I hear it!
Perfect professional jazzy music
author: JeroenVery good CD from wonderfull independant artists. I got my version as a CD-R (so it's a bit more prone to errors) and without inlays, but that was well compensated by the music! Introduced to the Blake's through www.wholewheatradio.org
this project is nothing short of fantastic!!!!!!
author: tim gilchristfrom track 1 to the end i can only sit back and enjoy what's been missing in music today. this project has it's own original flavor ,creative pizzazz, outstanding sound quality that has set the standard for i call m-u-s-i-c .

Ballads for Romantic Warriors
author: Jay Edwards/wclk-fm 91.9Fluid and flexible with a hymn like dignity are essential for Alan and Lita Blake. Whether a live performance or CD, audiences are captivated by Lita's sultry voice and Alan's sensuous touch on the keys. Their warmth and insight defines an innovative marriage to duets--swinging and loving it! "You're the One For Me," their most recent release sets the tone for lovers and romantic interludes. This versatile husband and wife team integrates elements of jazz, Latin-jazz, and pop-in their ballads for romantic warriors.
Great Independent CD!!!
author: Jesse TylerThis is a classic independent CD that should be in everyone's hands. You will not be disappointed! The recording is awesome as well as the delivery. That 2 people can produce this with electronic keyboards is beyond me!! Great vocals!!!
incredible that 2 can produce this by themselves!!!
author: identity crisiswe heard your cd and think you and your wife need to seriously consider marketing your product. it's one of the best independent cd's i've heard. i believe you'll be suprised at the response you'll get, or maybe you already know what your worth, either way your material is tight.
Good CD
author: Ed ThorntonThese very talented people happen to be members of the gym that I work at. I never knew that they were so talented even though I see them day in and day out. They have accomplished something truely spectacular. Great job! :-)
