UniversalDice

UniversalDice is a most unique band; just beneath their accessible modern rock sound lies an ambitious and rich lyrical content that challenges pop music orthodoxy. There are few bands that not only make you think, but force you to re-think what was once taken for granted. Their most recent release,"Out of Many, One" is a unique musical and lyrical take on the times we live in. No where else will you hear songs such as "Master of Low Expectations" and "God Wants Me To Hate You." Their humanistic stance and sophisticated musical ideas are that rare marriage of substance and style. This is not what you were expecting. Their first full length independent CD release, "My Name Is Thomas..." attempts what few bands have attempted successfully in the past; to create a full scale rock opera with characters and a story line, and in this case, with a point to make. In the words of critic Michael Delwey of Long Island Entertainment, in their very first review: Here is a surprise for you, the next great rock opera might have emerged from, get this, Albertson (Long Island, NY). Their follow up CD received similar raves: Good Times Magazine called mostly True Stories - one of the top CDs of the year. The tunes ranged from the mystical "Love Is" to the punkish "Charlton Heston High School." This is a band that does not repeat itself! If you prefer your rock and roll to mean something - this is your band: UniversalDice.
