Transcending the boundaries between spiritually uplifting moods and popularized indie music, Lavoy has been incubating their sound in lovely Alaska for the last four years where front man Tyrell Tompkins and crew have back-breakingly performed their way to the top of the Alaskan musical heap and successfully solidified their place as a staple amongst the musical trailblazers of the great North.
Presenting them selves as a modest four piece ensemble, Lavoy makes full use of beautiful simplicity to compel an audience. On the whole Lavoy is a spectacle to be seen and one never finds them selves feeling the dull pain of redundancy listening to an entire 2 hour set unlike many common rock outfits flying the flag of 'indie.'
A night with Lavoy is always a night to remember.
Since their conception in 2005 LaVoy has independently released their debut album "Said The Quiet Hands" (2008) with producer Casey Bates (Portugal. The Man, Chiodos) and recruited longtime Starflyer 59 front man and producer Jason Martin (Cold War Kids, Project 86) for their sophomore release which they finished tracking in May of 2009. Their 2009 full length independent effort “We Met In The Arts” has certainly progressed their art and is sure to expand their fanbase as well.
