Tim Cheesebrow (yes that is his real name, you can’t make this stuff up) is a singer/songwriter native to St. Paul, MN. Known primarily for his beautiful folky melodies, inspring lyrics, and an obvious love for his craft, Tim has been playing for audiences around Minnesota since he was 15. Tim’s musical experience has both depth and variety; he has been lead singer/guitarist for several rock groups, he has written/arranged for others, played in theatrical productions, performed in classical, jazz, bluegrass, dixieland and polka bands and spent time as an elementary/high school band instructor. He has composed many original works including a symphony for string quintet, a suite for wind ensemble and an opera.
He draws upon these experiences to enrich his songwriting and add eclectic elements to keep things interesting. His debut album is a celebration of our world and a call to explore our souls rendered in folky acoustic tones, driving rock rhythms and poetic lyrics.
When he’s not making music Tim enjoys cooking for friends and family. He is also a professional photographer with his wife, Jenn. Together they formed the Minnesota Image Co. and have had the pleasure of providing photography for people’s weddings and portraits since 2006. He is the Executive Director for MusicWorks Minnesota, a non-profit dedicated to supporting the work of public school music educators.
