Christina Malone

Biography

Christina Malone was born in Houston, TX, on July 24, 1954 at 1:17 PM (for all you Astrologers out there!) She began singing songs at family functions with her brother, Sheridan, and sister, Monica (aka Moon), doing harmonies on traditional folk songs like the popular trio, Peter, Paul and Mary. In college, she played guitar and sang in local coffeehouses. In 1978, she began traveling and lived in meditation ashrams in various cities across the United States. For 5 years, she wrote devotional songs with her sister, Rama, for their beloved teacher, Baba Muktananda. Christina (aka Rajalaxmi) and her sister even had the privilege of playing some of their songs in front of large audiences in the ashram. These songs became the basis of her first album "Lord, Show Me Your Face," which she released in 1982 - the same year she went to live in India. After returning to the US, she went to work at the Songwriters Hall of Fame. As Managing Director, she met and worked with many famous songwriters. Also during this time in New York, she met and wrote with other songwriters: Stephan Feinberg, Allan Jaffe, Marilyn Munder, Carl D'Errico, and Kathleen Gorga. In 1994, she released her second album, "Travelin' Light," produced by Dan Jenks, and moved to Nashville. She has met and written with several songwriters and has lived in and around Nashville ever since. She released her third album, "Serenity," in 2009. In 2010, she released CD collections of the songs she wrote in NYC with her co-writers. Christina continues to write spiritual, emotional, funny, unique, uplifting songs.

Songs From Outside the Box

This CD is a fun collection of songs that I wrote with 3 other songwriters, and are named "Outside the Box" because of their novelty. You may not hear them coming out of a typical radio box, but we hope you will enjoy their special quirkiness!
