Courtney Wong is a singer/songwriter/worship leader based in New York City. She began playing piano at the age of five, quit out of childhood rebellion, then picked it up again in high school, along with flute and guitar. Wong spent summers studying music at the Manhattan Arts Institute and Manhattan School of Music, and graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2009 with a B.A. in Music-Psychology. At Columbia, she began songwriting and served as InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s worship band director. Since then, Courtney continued to perform around NYC/NJ while working, but left her full-time job last year to pursue a career in music and non-profit work. She is currently a New York City Urban Project Artist, striving to bring awareness to and combat the issues of urban poverty and suffering through worship and her original music.
