JC Covey

Biography

From "The New River City” of Radford, Virginia, JC Covey creates and delivers music with the heart and genuine emotion of a True American Artist. Keeping it original with his unique singing and acoustic playing style, he crafts and performs memorable songs that people can connect and identify with right away. His experiences in life along with the influence of Classic Rock, Country, Gospel, Blues, and Folk has developed into a creative brand of music that listeners will appreciate right from the start.

JC’s early interest in music came from a Mother that adored Elvis, a Father who loved The Temptations and a musician Grandfather who played with early greats such as Bill Monroe and Bob Wills. It wasn’t until a high school chorus class though that his natural musical talent would start to be realized. This class provided the first platform to help develop his talent, which included several performance opportunities such as school assemblies and the opportunity to compose and perform a tribute song at graduation for another popular teacher who was retiring.

Shortly after high school, JC left Virginia after enlisting in the Air Force, which would eventually move him to Las Vegas once all initial training was completed. It was here where he also started and finished college and graduate school and met and married his wife Ruth while working his way up to leadership roles at reputable companies, building a resume that would eventually help him return to Virginia. During this period, he never stopped creating, playing, and enjoying music, which was a connection to home he didn’t want to lose. While in Las Vegas, JC would also have the opportunity to perform at coffee houses, book stores, and open mics. After becoming a regular performer at all the local Borders Book Stores, JC later hosted and performed at the popular Saxby's Coffee Open Mic in nearby Henderson followed by the successful Weekly Cars & Coffee Show held in Las Vegas.

JC shares a dream that most everyone has in doing something they’re really passionate about and sharing that passion with others. For him, that passion is his own music he hopes future fans everywhere will enjoy and connect with. His first two singles, “Brothers First, Not Last” and “Back in the Day” are now available for download on iTunes, AmazonMP3, Rhapsody, and most all other digital music distributers. Other singles will follow with a full EP of all six to be released later in the year.
