Jonny Blu is a uniquely talented singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, but made his debut into the music world in of all places China. Blu worked his way through the Chinese singing competition circuits to finally arrive in Hong Kong and, after signing with See Music HK, he would become the first ever non-Chinese (Caucasian) Mando-Pop music star in China. His album “On The Edge” (with all the songs written by Blu) led to three Top Ten songs and music videos on the Mando-Pop music charts in China and Hong Kong. His success in China also led to a role, playing himself, in the Disney blockbuster film Princess Diaries 2 and a RIAA Certified Gold Record for his song “Miracles Happen” on the official soundtrack. In 2005, Blu was awarded “Hot New Sound” at the prestigious Metro Music Awards in Hong Kong- a first ever for a non-Chinese artist.
In 2007, Jonny decided to shift his career path and return to his musical roots in the USA with his first English Swing/Pop album In Just That Kind of a Mood. He has since toured his Big-Band Jazz/Pop act around the United States and the world and released multiple studio albums. His music has received high praise in the Jazz and Big-Band world and Blu has had radio and internet play across the globe and his music has been featured in film and television.
